Expecting a ghost story, I kept listening only because I was working on a crochet project and didn't want to put it down. I am glad that I kept listening because I, like Greta, am haunted by the memory of a youthful lover. Your discussion after the story was fascinating. Thank you.
My sister postulated that there is a "hole in space" into which things fall (it haunts the washing machine so one sock will often fall into it) but then they will fall out again in another place.
It sounds like your Air Pods fell into the Hole In Space and fell out again onto your carpet.

Very very weird.
Excellent narration of a beautifully told tale. Enjoyed the end ramble as well. Thank you, Tony!
Beautifully narrated. And I really enjoyed your analysis. Great job!
The Dead is the only thing that James Joyce wrote that I have liked.
I tried Ulysses and, like you, I came to grief on Finnegan's Wake.
